In order to give the cable a spiral, curved form, the metal conductors inside the cable are first wound around a mandrel or tube. Copper, tinned copper or aluminum are a few of the preferred metal conductors and once they take a spiral form, proper insulation and additional covering is provided to make it safe for use.
